Our Story
Barangay Berong began from the nomadic lifestyle of the Tagbanua people, who moved from one place to another place in search of food and livelihood. The couple Madamba and Abuan led the discovery and settlement of the area after they dreamed of a prosperous place.
With the help of Balantangan, they found a place rich in natural resources such as fish, shells, and forests. They settled there with their family and established a stable way of living.
Later on, the Spaniards arrived and established a school and a local government in the area. The community gradually developed until it officially became a barangay named Berong.
Over time, different leaders governed the barangay, continuing its development and managing the community up to the present.
